Privacy rights in Chile are guaranteed by the constitution from 1980 with a revision in 2015.

Right to Privacy in Chile

CHAPTER III ARTICLE 19

The Constitution guarantees all persons:

4.The respect and protection of private life and of the honor of the person and his family;

5.The inviolability of the home and of all forms or private communication. The home can only be searched and the private communications and documents intercepted, opened or registered in the circumstances and manner prescribed by law;
